Remarks: In Feb of 2008 I had to delcare bankrupt (What divorce will do to you!!). After speaking with my credit counselor she suggested I apply for the BOA secured CC since I am a checking and savings client with them and start all over again. I received a "they need to look into furthur" message. (I applied online). Finally after a couple days I recieve a message to sign in and check my status. To my surprise , I was denied the secured CC but was approved for the Platinum plus MC with a 8000 CL. So I downloaded the picture I wanted for my card and waited for my card. Waited and Waited.....Finally after 3 weeks I called the bank to see why I have yet to receive the card....I was told I was not approved???? I could not believe that a bank will approve you for CC for which I did not even applied for..ask for me to chose a picture then completely pulled out the rug form under me...I am not upset now (since I now have my discover card and no other cards!!))..but what happened????? The rep could not tell me. I still have my checking and savings with them.......Thanks for this forum..I've learn a lot since I am also trying to reach my goals of the 700 club once again!!!!

Remarks: Hi everyone its been a few weeks , i recieved a pre approved letter from bank of america yesterday for this card..i got online put my info in and was instantly approved with a credit limit of 2k.. now what im kind of wonderin is if i was approved for this card from one of the huge banks..why wasnt i approved for a capital one cc last week? even juniper turned me down..crazy.. my credit file is approaching 4 months soon and was suprised to see an offer for credit from such a established bank-bank of america- so early ..also was talking to a person in that chat box thing that pop up and she asked if i wanted to apply for another card from BoA..do u folks think its too early to do so? so now my cc look like this
macys-600$ nearing 3 months
american savings bank secured visa-500$-almost 4 months
hooters master card-500$-nearing 1 month
bank of america platnium plus master card/world points-2000$- waiting for card to arrive
idk my scores because i found out that the scores i was looking at where fako from freecredit report.com but when i purchase my fico scores i will post them up

Remarks: I got a call today from BOA in regards to my Amex & Alumni platinum plus card, they noticed I did not have a MasterCard with them. The credit department asked me if would be interested in the Platinum Plus MasterCard with world points. I said well if it requires a hard pull on my credit then NO, but if you can approve it based on my current relationship and recent soft pull of my credit then go ahead. I was placed on hold 2 minutes later I was approved with a 15k limit 0% on balance transfers for 12 months and 9.9%. Given all the bad press boa has gotten as of late I was floored because although I have never had problems with BOA, they have never gone out of their way to do me any favors. I suspect when they pulled my last credit report my scores all went up 25 plus points not to mention I have multiple products from the same banks, i.e. citi Amex,Visa & MC same with Chase Visa & MasterCard.
My friend at BOA did tell me they are hurting and reaching out to long standing customers with a good track record with them to enhance current and offer new products

Remarks: I have the BOA WorldPoints Visa. Its okay. I was preapproved for this offer a year ago. The interest rate is a little on the high side (17.24) but the rewards are cool. I'm currently looking into doing a product change over to the BOA amex card.
